Representation of Lord Rama's Horoscope (some debate on position of Sun)

Rama's Horoscope

Rama's Horoscope is a spectacular one. There is also some discrepancy / confusion about Sage Valmiki's details of the horoscope. But the fact remains that no other person in history has had a more impressive horoscope... on paper or palm leaves at least.

A Brilliant Birth-chart. Exalted Mars Makes a Warrior with Mojo, but...

4/ 5 planets in exaltation or present in their own house. The individual may be mostly revered in his/ her own lifetime and worshipped daily by billions for posterity. BUT....the native may still undergo enough trials as to make his life appear not really worth living. Mars in exaltation in Capricorn makes a great warrior of Rama.

Mars may be a possible Mischief Monger for Marriages

A well-placed Mars may make the mortal a Great Warrior, but may also mar his or her marriage life by being in his seventh house. The same planet influencing two or more aspects of a person!

Mars may mar marriage, Venus and Jupiter also have a say

The challenge to be a decent astrologer (forget being good & then great) is to also realize that there are other planets that may also affect a person's outcomes in any domain. For eg. Venus has a good say on matters relating to Love & Marriage. Even Jupiter's influence has some bearing. A badly 'aspected' Jupiter may not be able to redeem the shortcomings on account of other planets. Besides the above rule of thumb planets, depending on a person's 'Lagna' or Ascendent, other planets as Lords of the 7th house or occupants of the 7th house or those 'aspecting' the 7th house or aspecting the 7th house Lord also load the dice. And all this is just for one domain of one's life.

Some Sad Situations in Rama's Life

The following is my list of the not so ideal events in Rama's life.

1) Rama's Coronation as the next in line to his father is cancelled and he is sent on exile for 14 years. But he still bears no ill-will or resentment for his stepmother, Kaikeyi.

2) In the early days of his exile, he learns of the demise of his doting father, heart-broken with Rama's exile.

3) Wife Sita is kidnapped at Panchavati.

4) After Ravana's defeat, Rama needing to ask Sita to undergo Agni Pariksha

5) After returning to Ayodhya, even as Sita was five months into her pregnancy, Rama needing to banish her, to keep a few wanton mouths shut.

6) Rather than being a proud father watching his kids grow, Rama deprives himself.

7) Rama meets his sons after they capture a ceremonial horse let loose by Rama. The have grown into young warriors.

7) Legends around sita Samahith Sthal, Sitamarhi (the temple built here at the place where Sita vanishes into the earth) talk of Rama again asking for an Agni Pariksha. The heart-broken Sita immediately wishes for the earth to swallow her.

The 'Les Miserables' Life Prize

Barring his childhood/ youth and the early years spent with Sita in exile at Chitrakoot, Rama surely had a miserable personal life. The only person who could easily overshadow him for the 'Les Miserables' Life prize was his wife. Rama's Divinity was taking it all... with equanimity.... the blows on the chin with a smile!
